What is Mitral Regurgitation?

Mitral regurgitation (MR) is a heart condition where the mitral valve does not close properly, causing blood to leak backward into the left atrium. Over time, this can lead to symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, and even heart failure if left untreated.
