TAVI shown to be equally safe and efficacious in Asian women as compared to Asian men

A recent study in “Open Heart” [Open Heart 2021 Jan; 8(1):e001541], a peer reviewed journal, found that in Asian patients undergoing TAVI, there was a high success rate and a very low complication rate with no differences between the sexes. Our doctor, Dr Paul Chiam, led this study of over 20 hospitals across Asia involving over 800 patients. The results of thus study gives us confidence that TAVI is a good option for patients (including physically smaller Asian females) with severe aortic valve stenosis.
